Give us a brief description of your background

I work at the NICEIC as a Customer Service Team Leader, I’ve been in my role for 5 years but have been at the company for 7 years starting as an administrator when I finished University after gaining a degree in Events Management. My team manage the MCS and PAS 2030 schemes within our business, this involves certifying installers of Renewable Technologies and Energy Efficiency measures. During my time working in this industry I’ve seen a lot of change and learnt a lot from the people around me who have helped me to develop in this area and gain a passion for something I knew very little about beforehand.

Who/what inspires you?

I’m inspired every day by the people I work with, I have some great mentors who have supported and educated me over the years by encouraging my development, forcing me out of my comfort zone and sharing their experiences and knowledge with me.

What does the word leadership make you think of?

Leadership to me is taking others on a journey with you, allowing them space to grow and empowering them to achieve.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

I’m excited to take time away from the day to day to attend the workshops and learn new skills but I am also really looking forward to meeting others who have different backgrounds and experience, learning about what they do and how we can work together going forward.
