Give us a brief description of your background
I studied BSc Geography at Exeter university with a focus on climate change, glaciology, and environmental change. I then travelled independently for several months around Laos (where my dad is from) and Malaysia before beginning my career in the environment sector. I now manage three certification schemes in the fields of organics recycling and the circular economy. Outside of this, I love reading, playing volleyball, and eating…!
Who/what inspires you?
Extinction Rebellion for their vision and fearless activism. The movement is powerful, and I’m impressed at the global attention they’ve secured. I felt completely energised and encouraged when attending or witnessing their demonstrations.
What does the word leadership make you think of?
Embodying the right mix of principles, values, strengths, and skills, to make positive change.
How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?
I feel very grateful for this opportunity which will undoubtedly benefit both my professional and personal life. I also feel excited to be part of something with a future focus, contributing to the fight against climate change.
What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?
Collaboration and courage – working together as a global society to tackle the climate crisis, having the courage to change and take risks in order to secure a sustainable future.
