Give us a brief description of your background

Immy Sykes is an accomplished Operations Lead at People Powered Retrofit, specialising in operations development, human resources, and process improvement. With a background in investment banking and a passion for environmental sustainability stemming from her MSc in environmental sustainability, Immy transitioned into the retrofit sector in January 2022.

Previously, Immy served as a Director of Operations at an educational start-up, where she honed her skills in implementing strategy, managing and building diverse teams, and designing and optimising processes. This experience equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by growing organisations.

Immy additionally works as a lead editor at Beta Magazine, a volunteer-led rock climbing publication, where she is supporting the organisation’s transition to community interest company and providing operational expertise. Immy also dedicates time to a community initiative called Bikes and Bird hides, helping to advocate for cycling and bird conservation. Immy is studying for her CIMA qualifications to gain a deeper understanding of management accounting.
