Transport for Greater Manchester

Give us a brief description of your background

A new dad, avid outdoorsman, Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, fell runner.

Working at Transport for Greater Manchester, my role as Environment Officer has been to develop our Corporate Environment Plan, which sets out our long-term environmental vision and our aim to be a carbon neutral transport organisation by 2038.

I have a BSc in Geography (Salford University), and an MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (Manchester Metropolitan University).

Who/what inspires you?

My son, nothing has ever come close to inspiring me to be the best I can be than Henry! And I want to do everything I can to make sure the world we leave him is one that he can prosper in. Laying the fertile grounds for him to chase his dreams!

“Giving up is not in the blood sir!” Nimsdai Purja (Project Possible - 14 Peaks).

What does the word leadership make you think of?

Having the courage to stand up and be counted, especially when the chips are down.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

Excited to meet and learn from new people, and in taking on a new challenge, being outside of my comfort zone.

What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?

Living in accordance with nature.
