Warmworks

Give us a brief description of your background

A bit of a wanderer, after spending my 20s seeing different parts of the world and working in all kinds of jobs to fund it, I moved to Edinburgh in 2019. I found an organisation that shared my values and a desire to help tackle some of the societal challenges we are all facing. I’ve worked at Warmworks ever since!

Most of my time is now dedicated to my daughter, born in 2022. When not changing nappies or singing daft songs to her I like to read, get to a gig or festival, play football, and meet friends for drinks.

Who/what inspires you?

Meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. The thousands of positive stories that prove people do care about our planet and want to help protect and conserve it. Nature, there is nothing more inspiring than getting outside and hiking up a Scottish Munro.

What does the word leadership make you think of?

Inspiration and aspiration. Great leaders inspire others to aspire to achieve their goals and ambitions.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

Excited to challenge myself and explore the changes I can make to be the best version of myself I can be. Appreciative, opportunities like this do not come round very often and I want to ensure I make the most of it. Focused, this course will support my development and any positive impact on me as an individual I want to share with my colleagues to help benefit the organisation I work for.

What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?

Education, education, education!!

The youth of today and tomorrow. Empowering more women. Engaging with indigenous communities. Voting for politicians that actively recognise the issues facing all of us and are prepared to challenge the status quo.
