Give us a brief description of your background

I graduated with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield Hallam in 2019 where, during my studies I was part of the Formula Student team, rising to Team Principal in my final year. Since university, I have been part of local community Sustainability groups outside of work, including Envirolution, and lead local office and wider Rail divisional Sustainability efforts for people and planet.

Who/what inspires you?

Stephen Fry – his calm ability to debate and argue cases. Being sensitive to other’s views but reinforcing his own with evidence and feeling.

What does the word leadership make you think of?

It’s a position that pulls people upwards and along in a common direction. They learn how to align people’s strengths and beliefs to progress together, but allows people to grow in their own way to support them in their own endeavours.

How do you feel about taking part in the Future Leaders programme?

I’m looking forward to getting structured guidance from the Future Leaders programme on how I can more diligently lead and develop colleagues in my sector, and also meeting like-minded individuals working for a more sustainable future.

What do you think are the keys to a sustainable future?

Pulling in the same direction – giving leaders the tools to make meaningful and impactful decisions and equipping everyone with the capabilities to provide sustainable solutions.
